The Company

Our client is part of the Perth mining industry and currently have a requirement for a Junior Network Engineer. This contract will be for 3 months and be based in their South West Aus location. Must be okay with travelling to and from work.

The Role

• Providing network support, troubleshooting issues, perform routine maintenance on local and remote software/hardware
• Tier two support for all network services including but not limited to: Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Cisco VoIP, WAN circuits
• To understand and work closely with Layer 1 and 2 protocols and practices
• Installing, maintaining and working with Cisco routers, switches and phone technology. You'll also be working closely with radio technology such as moto-2-way
• Transition to open standards on their Cisco infrastructure, so modified Cisco switch configuration and altered their L2 networks in L3
• Enabled new networking gear (Huawei) to be used on site

Your Profile

• At least 2-3 years minimum experience working as a Network Engineer or Administrator with a high understanding and knowledge of networking
• Experience with Cisco, Huawei, Service Now and radio equiptment and techs
• Experience deploying and configuring CISCO routers and switches
• Good understanding of Network Security and Firewalls
• Associated Degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification is preferred, Cisco qualification is neccessary (CCNA)
• Ability to work as part of an experienced and fast moving project team
