Job Description

Capital Transport is a leading supplier of transport and logistics services across Australia. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced System Administrator to join our IT Department located in Clayton.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with strong communications skills and a client service focus, which will enable you to respond competently and patiently to customer requests. You will be technically minded and able to solve complex problems, as well as show initiative.

 

The key focus areas of responsibility include:

  • Provide all levels of support across network, server and desktop hardware, mobile devices, software and peripheral devices, including proprietary applications
  • User support via a helpdesk ticketing system ,as well as direct access via email, phone and in person
  • Network administration tasks and housekeeping procedures
  • Remote support for workstations and servers
  • Server builds and deployments
  • Monitoring of infrastructure, with maintenance performed as required
  • Assist with the management of VoIP systems

 

Desired skills and experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT with 5 year's commercial experience as a Systems Administrator or relevant certifications and experience
  • Demonstrated ability working with network appliances, for example, Cisco or HP firewalls and switches
  • Proficiency with Windows desktop and server platforms, including Exchange, Active Directory, Windows Server and SQL Server
  • Experience with virtualised systems, particularly VMWare systems
  • Experience with Linux systems, including maintenance and some level of scripting
  • Experience with MySQL would be desirable
  • Proven analytical experience and troubleshooting across a range of systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

You will need to be very hands-on and willing to work within a growing team environment.  Opportunities for training and development will be offered based upon your performance and abilities.
