One of our large retail clients is looking for a Technical Business Analyst.
This is an initial 6 month contract with possible extensions and is based in Sydney CBD.
The client has recently developed a cloud hosted data, reporting and analytics platform using Azure / Cloudera HDFS, and we are currently expanding it across our key business units. The Technical Business Analyst – Big Data will represent the business on project teams during scope, requirements definition/ gathering, development, testing and implementation stages of projects.
Responsibilities:

• Translating business requirements to developers and testers
• Develop, document and manager business requirements for assigned projects
• Develop initial data views/draft reports for development by the big data team
• Analyze business problems, evaluate options and provide solutions
• Assist in analysis of current processes and make recommendations for improvement
• Knowledge and understanding of enterprise information data and information management concepts and principles as a means of consulting with I.T. stakeholders
• Documentation management using confluence, office and/or MS Team Services.
• Take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project within scope, time, budgetary and resourcing constraints
• Effectively build and sustain solid working relationships with a wide range of project stakeholders
• Provide timely and accurate information and reports specific to the performance of projects
• Leverage agile and customer centric approaches in designing and implementing the solution
• Demonstrate high level of energy / initiative

Experience:

• 4 years recent work experience as a Business Analyst working on Analytics projects
• Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Exposure to Big Data & HDFS projects (highly regarded)
• Experience interfacing with Business and I.T. managers
• Agile project experience
• Experience owning and creating user stories
• Knowledge of SQL and database structures
• Proven experience and track record in the successful implementation of IT projects
• Demonstrated skills in translating business requirements into technical solutions and have experience in the management of both infrastructure and application-based projects
• An ability to cope with complexity, ambiguity, change and variety
