Are you an Network Engineer with experience across a wide range of networking technologies (including Cisco, F5, Firewalls, etc.) looking for a challenging and varied role? If the answer is yes, this large Financial Services organisation is looking for you...
You will provide sound input and engineering support in order to drive excellence, quality and performance for an IT service, across one or multiple portfolios. You will support the design, engineering and utilisation of standardised IT services to promote business value; support and maintain the utility of provided services and meet the ongoing technology requirements for business, projects, and IT stakeholders. You will initially be focussed on network perimeter technologies, but broaden into other infrastructure technologies including cloud (AWS/Azure) in the future.
Your role will include the following responsibilities:
- Execute and support the design and engineering of reusable IT services, to provide business value across multiple projects and initiatives
- Identify and mitigate issues or risks associated with design or solution proposals
- Provide technical consulting and advice to projects to ensure alignment to IT strategy, architectures, and utilisation of standardised IT services
- Practice engineering principles, patterns, standards and guidelines across projects
- Support transitioning target architecture from current to desired state
- Provide feedback on effectiveness of target solution architecture
- Work within a team environment and across business units to complete associated tasks
- Remain across emergent IT services that may benefit the strategic direction
- Ensure all services within the IT service portfolio are managed with consideration to network, capacity, platform, sociability/scalability factors and target architecture
You should have the following skills and experience:
- Strong network engineering experience in a large organisation
- Technical experience and understanding of a wide range of infrastructure technology; Cisco, F5 Load Balancers, Firewalls, Cloud (AWS/Azure)
- Experience in IT design, operation or management
- Specialised knowledge of development and design methodologies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work across multiple projects concurrently
