Our government client is in need of an Actuarial Analyst for a 12 months daily rate contract role based in Sydney CBD.

You will work in the Data Analytics, Actuarial and Reporting team to provide data driven insights to the business. We will be accepting applications from graduates up to senior actuaries with 8 or more years of experience and it is likely that multiple people will be hired at different levels.

You will work on analytical tasks day to day, including actuarial monitoring and analysis, scheme projections, cost benefit analysis, ad hoc modelling and BI reporting.

You should be able to manage yourself and deliver to deadlines. Technically, you will be working in a SAS & SQL environment and will be required to extract and analyse data with Excel.

In this role, you will work end to end from gathering business rules and requirements from data consumers to collaborating with system developers to ensure that delivery and solutions are met to the expected standard. In addition, you will identify and document metadata and analyse proposed changes to data models and database tables.

This is a rare long term contract role that is expected to extend further.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Actuarial Analyst
  • SAS & SQL skills
  • Desirable to worked with SAP CRM
  • Applied software development methods
  • Desirable to be a Fellow or Accredited member of the Institute of Actuaries Australia
  • Worked in an Agile environment
  • Skills in analysing data and communicating insights to stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised and able to manage own time and deliverables
