About The Role

Civica Local Government provides ICT and business solutions to councils across Australia and New Zealand.

Their Authority enterprise application suite is designed specifically for the Local Government industry and comprises of more than 40 modules of business software to assist councils with the running of their highly diverse business.

A role has arisen for an Agile Business Analyst/Iteration Manager with the Product Team delivering the Authority ERP suite of modules.

Based in Melbourne, and reporting to the Development Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of our software suite.

As part of the role, some travel will be required. 

Responsibilities

Analysis and design

• Develop an understanding of business processes within the relevant domains.
• Analyse existing software packages within Civica to understand key features and how they fit into the wider context.
• Work with customers to understand what they need and the best way for them to achieve their outcomes.
• Formulate a suitable design, meeting requirement parameters and validate assumptions with Customers.

Iteration Management

• Manage teams through the agile process
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies
• Reporting on key leading and trailing metrics
• Documentation
• Document requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Consider all User Experience and design aspects of the system

Collaboration

• Work with customers to prioritise and understand their needs.
• Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood, clearly and concisely reflect the needs of the customer.
• Work closely with all members of the development team to foster trust and develop an environent of self motivation.
• Assist development and testing teams where required to analyse issues, test software against specification or any related activities.

Mandatory skills

• Previous experience as an iteration manager/scrum master
• An agile mindset
• Leadership
• Advanced analysis skills
• Detail focussed and good organisational skills
• Customer focussed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Cooperative Team Player

Desirable skills

• Workshop facilitation
• Knowledge of tools such as JIRA & VSTS will be highly regarded
• Experience in a Government environment
