Senior Front End Developer

One of our long-standing clients are on the lookout for a JavaScript expert to join one of their flagship product teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building applications for the Financial Services industry using technology such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ReactJS. In addition to this, there will be the opportunity to implement new technology and possibly to get involved with some mobile development work in the future.

In addition to hands-on coding, your expertise will be utilised to help upskill the existing team. There will be an important coaching element to this role with the opportunity for you to mentor up to three junior-mid level developers. You will be expected to advise on UI best practice, make improvements to the Agile process and suggest new technologies/ways of working.

Key Skills & Knowledge

• A strong core skill set using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build web applications
• Commercial experience with at least one of the following JavaScript libraries/frameworks - Angular, React-Redux, Vue, Knockout, Aurelia etc.
• Knowledge of development tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Teamcity etc.
• Experience with GIT for source control 
• Prior experience of mentoring, coaching and guiding others
• Strong communication skills
• An ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
• A genuine passion for technology
• Previous experience working within an Agile, test-driven environment

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

• An appreciation of UX and a flair for design
• Mobile development experience (React Native/Cordova)
• Experience with cloud-based technology (AWS)
• Knowledge of Financial Services/FinTech space
