This NSW Government organisation is located centrally in Parramatta. They have had an influx of project work to kick off the new financial year, and are looking to add a Senior Server Specialist to their IT project team. The aim of the role is to assist in continually refreshing the technology assets to ensure ongoing operational stability, with minimal disruption to business and working within the change management process.
The Role
As a Senior Server Specialist, you will:
- Be responsible for the migration of legacy servers and operating systems to strategic platforms
- Work with technology support and applications teams to coordinate migrations
- Assist with disaster recovery tests and production cut-over
- Adhere to all policies and guidelines including information security
This is an initial contract until 30th June 2019, with a potential to extend
Skills and Experience
As an experienced Senior Server Specialist, you will have:
- Extensive knowledge of server platforms - hardware and software
- Experience configuring Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) in a VMWare environment
- Experience in the migration of Virtual Machines from private to secure public cloud service providers
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, VMWare, Linux, JBoss products
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies specifically in relation of Virtualisation and databases
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
