Why this role?

Reporting to the Business Solutions Team Leader, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve business performance through technical change and innovation, and then planning, designing and deploying solutions within Evolution Mining to bring about this improvement. This will include:

• Engaging with key stakeholders across the business to understand operational context and business processes, and leveraging this understanding to identify opportunities and requirements.
• Gathering and analysing data in support of business cases, proposed projects and system requirements, with focus on data business initiatives.
• Understand emerging trends in the IT industry and how they may be applied within Evolution Mining.
• Supporting the development and deployment of cost effective and innovative technology solutions that add value to the business.

What will you be doing?

• Work with decision makers, system owners and end users to identify and document gaps in current systems and processes, and recommend changes leading to improved operational outcomes.
• Identify ways of streamlining processes and procedures, and maximising system functions to reduce manual interventions
• Assist operations in uncovering ways to utilise data to uncover insights to improve performance or reduce costs.
• Work with the sites in the creation of business cases to develop data lake and analytics initiatives. 
• Proactively manage any change process occurring as result of the above to ensure appropriate information, processes, procedures and fail safes for major changes are implemented. This should include a consideration of organisational impacts as well as the implications for IT infrastructure and systems.
• Identify potential issues, actively seek consultations/engagement, communicate effectively, develop training plans, and facilitate the delivery of training to users to ensure strong take up of systems deployed.
• Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.

Are you the one?

• Mining or resource industry exposure mandatory.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with demonstrated experience in overseeing the design, development and implementation of data initiatives that support the business’s goal of increasing safety, ounces and margin while decreasing cost and risk.
• Thorough understanding of business process mapping, and designing and implementing improvements to business processes with the ability to capture business requirements, translate into functional requirements and to frame and contribute to technical requirements definition and solution architecture decisions and strategies
• Good understanding of ERP application environment (Pronto advantageous but not necessary) and experience in using data warehouses or data lakes to develop business opportunities.
• Strong inter-personal skills, facilitating positive relationships, and the ability to present and communicate information at levels appropriate to audience.
