The Role
Service Stream's network construction operations team are seeking a Project Engineer to project manage telecommunications network construction projects on behalf of our client, nbn. The Project Engineer will have full end to end responsibility from project planning through to practical completion for a program of fibre to the basement related works. Based between Service Stream's Clayton South and CBD offices with regular travel to our work locations across the Melbourne CBD area, this position will report to the Program Manager, and is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver a program of construction and technical installation works on behalf of nbn
Manage the development of the SAM Project Management Plan detailing delivery strategy, budget, program, materials management, risks and responsible personnel
Select, assign and manage subcontractors during construction, monitoring and improving on productivity metrics
Manage project profit and loss to ensure the program meets budget
Ensure robust quality assurance processes are followed and that completed SAMs meet client quality requirements in addition to legislative OH&S, environmental and regulatory requirements
Lead the variation process via approved delegation channels
Required Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will have solid experience in construction management from within the fixed telecommunications sector. You will have experience in managing a program budget, following a variation process and managing subcontractors from procurement through to payment. In addition to your experience, you will be able to demonstrate strength in the following competencies:
