About the opportunity
This position delivers quality business intelligence solutions, translating business requirements into technical specifications, creating report mock-ups and templates, developing and maintaining reports, dashboards and scorecards as a means of sharing information and facilitating decision-making.
 
You will work on a range of key initiatives to:

• Develop, maintain, and monitor daily Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and other data imports. Develop SQL stored procedures and queries to support the data extraction, reporting and discovery processes.
• Create new reports and provide support to the existing reporting library including dashboards and data models using the WebFOCUS product suite.
• Enhance the data warehouse by designing structures and modelling data according to data vault design and modelling patterns.
• Assist with day-to-day functions including data warehousing, reporting, online analytical processing, data mining, and the development and maintenance of predictive and prescriptive analytics.
• Follow the data security management framework by maintaining data access, erasing redundant data and following data privacy and security frameworks
• Facilitate the management of metadata including its definition, maintenance, discovery, publishing, and registration.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation for operational support (Level 1, 2 and 3) to ensure processes and procedures are up to date as well as troubleshooting guides and knowledge base is built up within the data service team.
• Assist the organisation to remain up-to-date on the technologies used to assist in the management of data by increasing the usage of the self-service reporting platform and data quality tools.

About you
You are a qualified analyst with a passion for data. You are known for your enthusiasm and willingness to get in there and do what needs to be done. With a focus on quality process and outcomes, you are detailed, focused and resourceful. Ideally, you will have the following attributes to be successful in this role:

• Experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or equivalent position.
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain ETL routines between source systems and the target business environment.
• Proven experience in configuring BI reports and visualizations for development, testing and deployment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases, dimensional and data vault modelling & OLAP.
• Deep understanding of solutions lifecycle spanning: initiation, analysis, design, build, quality assurance, implementation, maintenance and end of life
• Strong SQL experience with the ability to write code and data model.
• Ideally you will have experience using Webfocus and or Wherescape Red.
