Salary: $  1,789.00 - $2,049.60pw + super + leaseback vehicle

Building Capacity to Deliver - Servicing Community Needs

This position will provide effective and efficient Development planning support to the Management Executive, Mayor and Councillors.

Essential

• Tertiary qualification in urban and regional planning or related discipline and/ or significant related experience.
• Extensive experience in the assessment of Development Applications with a broad and specific understanding of EPA Act, 1979 and BCA.
• Ability to lead and undertake improvements to processes and procedures to improve service delivery.
• Ability to provide innovative and practical solutions to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to represent Council in legal cases.
• High level negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and strong analytical skills.
• High level customer service skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of staff.
• Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times.

Desirable:

• Experience in developing and implementing change and continuous improvement.
• Experience in a supervisory role.
