We are currently seeking a driven and enthusiastic graduate-level candidate for a 3D Technologies Assistant / Programmer role that will have a tertiary degree or previous experience with 3D technologies paired with a strong ability in programming. This full time, permanent opportunity will be based in our Head Office in Bibra Lake, and will be responsible for working as part of a small, busy team, contributing to the development of 3D based services for internal and external clients.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Development of workflows for processing real world 3D data collected from site (point cloud data, clean-up, simplification, UV mapping).
  • Development of end user interfaces for 3D models (Unity, 3D VR).
  • Conduct research and development for various bespoke projects.
  • Conduct training for Applus RTD personnel in the use of developed equipment as and when required.
  • Writing technical reports and procedures.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary degree Engineering, Computer Science, Game Development, or similar.
  • Ability to setup computer networking and data redundancy systems.
  • Ability to make informed decisions on computer hardware purchasing and upkeep.
  • Programming skills (C, C++ C Sharp).
  • Ability to quickly make software solutions to solve day to day problems.
  • Skilled in documentation of software processes.
  • Unity SDK.
  • VR Development.
  • PC, Android, Web deployment.
  • 3D Modelling Software (Autodesk 3DS, Mono, Zbrush etc, Xnormal etc.)
  • Demonstrate skill in client liaison, project planning/co-ordination & implementation, analysis and reporting.

 

Desirable skills include:

  • Point cloud data manipulation (Meshlab, Cloud compare, Trimble Realworks).
  • Knowledge of photography and photogrammetry.

-Familiarity with photogrammetry software packages (Photoscan, Reality Capture, Bentley, Pix4D).

  • Understanding of camera setups.
  • Post processing photos (Adobe Lightroom etc.)
  • Knowledge of adapting coordinate systems ( eg. working from GPS co-oridinates system to localised Euclidean system).
  • Interest in UAVs, flight paths, control.
  • Interest in 3D scanning (eg. Open source programming MS Kinect).
