This role is a Dual Position and is responsible for the coordination of transport in and out of the site, Weighbridge operations and administration processes.
FULL TRAINING will be provided with ongoing support.
As the Weighbridge Operator you will be required to efficiently and effectively operate the weighbridge which includes, but not limited to;
- arrange for the acceptance of disposal loads, directing drivers to the correct areas for unloading, and advising site staff by UHF of the arrival of trucks so they can supervise the unloading and check of loads;
- maintain positive communications with the yard staff whilst loads are being checked;
- accurately bill all incoming and outgoing loads through the weighbridge system;
- reconciliation of daily shift including sending daily reports to the relevant people;
- entry of after hours sheets and manual dockets from other sites;
- adhere to all deadlines given by management;
- work with the general manager and operations manager to improve communication and safety in the workplace;
- attend Toolbox meetings and other staff meetings where applicable, to implement and support company policies and procedures.
As the Truck Allocator you will be required, but not limited to;
- take client orders for deliveries over the phone and email;
- arrange for those deliveries by liaising with the internal sales team and external stakeholders;
- ensure all orders are delivered on time;
- negotiate hourly and cartage rates with external stakeholders;
- work with the operations manager and internal staff to maximize production where possible by identifying efficiencies.
Successful Candidates will have:-
- Knowledge / Experience in the Waste Recycling industry in a similar role would be advantageous BUT not essential
- Knowledge of truck configurations and volumes, BUT not essential
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to multi-task is essential
- Able to think on your feet
- Strong computer literacy
- Good interpersonal skills
- Must be Proactive, team focused & able to work autonomously
Must have availability to work Mon- Fri and every 2nd Saturday.
