Purpose of the role

The focus of this role is to contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of general HR services to the Firm by providing administrative expertise to the Melbourne Talent Business Partner team.

Job description

You will be responsible for providing critical administrative support to the Melbourne Talent team across a broad range of areas including:

  • Coordinating Talent processes and employee related documentation across all phases of the employment life cycle (ie. new starters, departures, parental leave, LOAs, probation, contract changes, remuneration reviews, reward & recognition, general staff moves and changes)
  • Coordinating relocations including paperwork, allowances, visas etc
  • Coordinating the Melbourne office WHS program, including first aid, and the work experience program
  • Processing graduate and clerkship commencement and rotations as well as providing support for the Graduate and Clerk programs
  • Reviewing monthly audit reports and processing any necessary changes, as well as collating and distributing monthly and ad hoc reports for the Talent team
  • Participating in various Talent projects and initiatives

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft office products
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to manage time and conflicting priorities effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the confidence to liaise with stakeholders across all levels of a business
  • Good judgement and the ability to identify when to escalate problems for the input and advice of other staff members
  • Drive and enthusiasm to deliver and implement HR services to meet desired strategic outcomes at an appropriate standard and within specified time frames
  • Initiative, ability to think laterally and a strong desire for continuous improvement
  • Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly
  • Professional demeanour and ability to quickly establish rapport
  • Empathy, resilience and calmness under pressure
  • Integrity and an appreciation for discretion and confidentiality
  • A keen interest in pursuing an HR career

Bonus points for someone who has:

  • Experience in the legal industry or a professional services environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (HR, Business etc)
  • Experience with Filesite
  • Experience with Elite 3e
