No to Violence (NTV) is the largest peak body for organisations and individuals working with men to end family violence in Australia. For over 25 years we have provided telephone counselling, information and referrals for men who use violence. Our policy advice, role in setting practice standards and our delivery of training and workforce development makes us the ‘go to’ organisation in this field. We are a pro-feminist organisation and we understand the gendered nature of family violence. The safety of women and children is central to what we do, and their voices must be heard. Our aim is to end men’s family violence.
This full time permanent position is based at our head office in Melbourne CBD.
Position Objective
We are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the CEO and provide administrative support to the Board of Governance and any associated subcommittee. The Executive Assistant will also provide support to the Executive Team and other staff across the organisation as required to ensure the smooth operation of the organisation.
Key selection criteria
Essential
- Significant prior experience in providing Personal Assistant and / or Executive Assistant support
- Proven ability to manage multiple, changing and competing priorities with a high level of expertise and professionalism
- Willingness to learn / adapt to new technologies and ability to troubleshoot basic IT problems
- Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills and high attention to detail
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Desirable
- Prior experience working in a not-for-profit or non-government organisation
- An understanding of working inclusively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTI people and people with disabilities
- An understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and the need for appropriate responses
Annual salary dependent on experience, with salary packaging options available. Appointment to this position will require a satisfactory clearance of an Australian Police Check.
