Chandler Macleod is working with South32 to source an experienced Contracts and Procurement Specialist for a permanent DI/DO role at their Worsley operations, 130kms south east of Perth.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced person living within daily commute of the site. The role is offered as a full-time permanent opportunity working Monday-Friday, with the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Strong experience in developing commercial strategies and leading high value strategic negotiations, strong understanding of the labour and parts & consumable markets
• Minimum 5 years in a Commercial/ Supply environment, Mining & Metals an advantage
The role:
• Applies Category Management & Purchasing processes in alignment to design intent, local operating procedures, audit & Group Level obligations.
• Develops effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand business requirements, to forecast demand, and verify established contracts are effective.
• Develops collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure optimum delivery quality and sustained performance in line with business objectives.
• Supports Category Management Leadership teams to provide insight into the sub-function activities.
• Executes against the control framework for master data management; maintains quality and accuracy of information.
• Develops and executes sourcing activities contributing to the Asset/Project Supply Sourcing Plan.
• Collects requirements and analyses key data inputs from multiple sources (internal and external) to build robust category and sourcing strategies.
• Develops local category strategies that minimise supply risk to the business, optimise cost and contribute to process automation.
• Plans and executes portfolio of sourcing projects enabling category strategies and manage on-time delivery minimising disruption to the business operations.
• Leads negotiations with Suppliers.
• Reviews contract award recommendations.
• Reviews contracts for approval.
• Supports resolution of supplier performance issues and escalations.
