Our client within the government sector based in the CBD whom is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their finance team on a 12 month contract ongoing.


This role will be reporting to the Team Leader, the role of the Payroll officer will consist of the following duties but not limited to;

• Process weekly pay run for employers
• Process entitlements & terminations pays
• Preparation of payroll reconciliations as required for employees or finance team
• Complete EOM/quarterly/yearly statutory reporting
• Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
• Attend to all new starters in relation to payroll compliance documents
• Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information
• Resolving payroll discrepancies
• Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures
• Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  

Ideal Candidate

• The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years within a similar position.
• A degree in finance or economics would be beneficial. Applicants can also possess a Certificate III in Business or a Certificate III in Financial Services.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Great attention to detail
