The Role
The Accounts Officer position is vital to the success of the business simply because they are Northrop’s official representative. It’s vital that all communication to our clients and visitors is dealt with in a professional and personable manner to enhance their experience of working with Northrop. It is vital that the Accounts Officer follows all accounts procedures which includes contacting the clients on a daily / weekly basis via phone to chase up outstanding accounts.
Some of the key duties in this role include but are not limited to;
- All Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable and Invoicing requirements for an office of 40 + Engineers and Managers;
- Reconciliation of end of month;
- Communication with Managers with updated reports on debtors and invoicing figures;
- Maintaining spreadsheets for all accounts data,
- Banking;
- Credit Card reconciliation for Managers;
- Answer telephone and direct calls and welcome clients who come to the office;
- Assist with the maintenance and general tidiness of the office;
- Administration support to the Business Support Manager and Regional Manager; and
- Ability and motivation to take on further duties.
This role is part time and could suit a parent working school hours or a student studying. The days required are Tuesday through to Friday (4 days per week) and hours can be negotiable to suit the right applicant.
The Candidate
Applications are sought from candidates with the following attributes:
- Sound knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook (Numerous reports are completed in Excel);
- Experience in a project management/financial system, specifically Deltek (Vision) would be a great advantage;
- Positive personality, customer service orientation;
- Professional personal presentation;
- Outstanding phone manner, excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise work and meet deadlines;
- Demonstration of professionalism and objectivity in all work matters;
- Strong accountability and reliability;
- Good time management skills;
- Initiative, willingness to go above and beyond; and
- Ability to work as part of a team.
