Australian College of Applied Business (ACAB) is one of the progressive Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) based in Canberra, ACT. The college is currently offering certificate to diploma level courses in business to domestic students and corporate clients, with a plan to extend the scope of registration in the near future. The college is awaiting registration as a provider of educational services to overseas students (CRICOS) and looking to expand its team to support the new operations.

We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified Administration Managers who have proven experience in their respective fields to join our RTO administrative team. This is a managerial position involving management of administration staff, student administration activities and services, student records, and support to college’s academic and administrative processes.

To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
 

  • Tertiary qualification in business administration, management or related domains/fields;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the education field or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Experience in managing administrative processes and developing procedures to support administrative activities;
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant Standards for RTOs 2015, and The National Code 2018, and ensuring compliance in student and agent/agency recruitment processes;
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian education industry and the VET sector;
  • Sound knowledge of the requirements of the relevant ESOS standards in relation to student enrolment procedures, training courses and course entry requirements, IELTS and other English language proficiency tests, RPL and credit transfer, deferments, suspensions, and overseas students transfer;  
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines;
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to respond to student enquiries, conduct student interviews, and prepare and present reports;
  • Higher order analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated high level of numeracy skills;
  • A proven ability to be highly organised and self-managing, including a demonstrated capacity to establish work priorities and accept responsibility;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with staff at all levels, and with external agencies, service providers and clients;
  • A high level of computer competency, including the ability to use student management systems;
  • Strong knowledge and experience in managing the international student management portal PRISMS;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team
  • A commitment to the provision of excellent customer service and demonstrated high level of attention to detail and quality assurance
  • High level computer skills including the Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and
