The East Fremantle Football Club (Sharks) is the West Australian Football Club's most successful club, winning 29 premierships.

A strong values based organisation, with an outstanding support base, both on and off the field, the club is seeking a highly enthusiastic, aspirational and dedicated individual who will plan, prepare, execute and review a football program, one which has a robust game plan that recognises the strengths and limitations of the senior list, leading both coaching and culture of that list to participate in the West Australian Football League competition in a competitive manner and build team success.

On-field and off-field responsibilities;

  • training programs which develop the list in skills, conditioning, game style and structures, both individually and as a team.
  • liaison with key football department staff in appointing key ancillary staff and overseeing their performance.
  • list management, including recruiting
  • opposition analysis
  • drive the club's values and those on-field values of the football department
  • build and maintain strong relationship with the playing group and staff.
  • contribute to all key Football Affairs Committee meetings, reviewing how we are performing and planning on future direction.
  • establish and maintain strong relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders of the club.   

Key Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of Level 2 Coaching Accreditation, working towards to Level 3
  • Recent Coaching experience, preferably as a Head Coach with control of own team.
  • Excellent Communication Skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient IT and computer literacy skills
  • Proven Relationship Management Skills
  • Proven Leadership Capabilities
  • Understanding of Sports Science and Physical Conditioning
  • Understanding of what it takes to achieve on field success
  • An organised individual that understands structure and process
