The Lifelong Learning Program at Cumberland Council includes a range of free and affordable activities and school holiday activities delivered at Council’s community centres and other locations across the Cumberland local government area.

Programs aim to promote opportunities for experiences based around general interests, cultures, stories or to promote social inclusion, connectedness, general wellbeing and participation in community life.

Programs below are listed as examples: Council is open to the development of new programs. Please note, programs of a commercial nature are not eligible for consideration.

Facilitators are now sought in the area of... 

  • Health & Fitness (example: Zumba, Hip-Hop, Belly dancing, Yoga, Pilates etc.)

Other programs include (but are not limited to)...

  • Art & Culture (example: Singing, Drama, Candle making, Jewellery making, Writing etc.)
  • Cooking (example: Baking, Cake decorating, Cooking etc.)
  • Children’s Programs (example: craft activities, robotics and creative play, Acting and drama etc.)
  • Education & Learning (example: Language teaching, woodwork, practical knowledge, computer and technology courses etc.)
  • Social inclusion & Participation (example: Social groups, Gardening clubs, Knitting club, games competitions etc.)

Application & Selection Process

Facilitators must be able to demonstrate suitable qualifications and experience in their area of expertise. They must also complete an Expression of Interest Form which includes a program outline, target audience, duration of the program, resources for program, availability, referees and proposed fees.

Facilitators will need to agree to the Council’s Ethical Conduct, Terms of Trade, Facilitator Agreement, Facilitators Responsibilities and Council Responsibilities.

Shortlisted applicants may be required to complete a Working With Children Check if relevant.
