About the centre

Knox Leisureworks is a community facility managed by YMCA Victoria in partnership with Knox City Council. Knox Leisureworks has a huge range of facilities comprising 5 indoor and 2 outdoor swimming pools, 80-metre water slide, fully equipped gymnasium, group fitness room with over 40 weekly classes, childcare facilities, café and family and disabled change facilities.
 

The centre has undergone strong growth in recent years and enjoys a reputation of leadership in the areas of aquatic education, customer service, quality management systems and community development.

About the role

The position is committed to quality customer service, safety and the pursuit of excellence and growth of Knox Leisureworks' Schools program under the direction of the Schools Program coordinator. The Schools Program Leader will:

• Support the school's program coordinator with the program requirements of the initial first 2 days of scheduled school swimming and water safety programs and be available to teach on at least 1 other day of the scheduled program.
• Possess and maintain a complete knowledge of all aspects of teaching and assessing YMCA School swimming and water safety programs.
• Be committed to supervising swimming teachers and school program requirements on behalf of the Schools Coordinator as directed.
• Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word & Familiarity with standard office procedures and equipment.

• Maintains high standards of presentation and personal grooming.
• Excellent knowledge of the YMCA aquatic programs
• Understanding of industry trends in school aquatics
• Experience in customer service
• Experience in overseeing and motivating teams
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated commitment to YMCA core values

Qualifications

AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, AUSTSWIM Teacher of Access and Inclusion (Desirable) Working With Children, Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate (completion upon successful application)
