Our client has grown considerably in recent times and offer solutions in cropping research, merchandise, grain marketing & storage. There is now the requirement for a Sales Agronomist to join the local field team at Tamworth, NSW. Reporting to the store manager, you will be responsible for growing the irrigated and dryland winter and summer cropping business in the areas of chemicals, fertiliser, seed, ag services and general merchandise to existing and new clients. This involves developing sales opportunities through building close relationships with key growers, as well as promoting the unique model of crop research to highlight opportunities to local growers and independent agronomists. You will be out in the paddock providing agronomic advice for sound cropping decisions.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have knowledge of winter or summer cropping production
- Demonstrated knowledge and sales experience in best farming practice and agronomy
- Strong customer service background
- Ability to relate, connect and build relationships with growers and rural communities
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Have a current driver’s license
There will be some regional travel in the role as well as guiding a graduate agronomist. Product training provided as required. A generous salary package consisting of salary, super, vehicle and bonus.
You may currently be either a junior or senior agronomist with at least a couple of years’ experience working in the broadacre cropping areas, however perhaps frustrated and limited by the unreliable seasonal conditions.
