Arapala Macadamia Farm is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Team Leader experienced in labour management. Arapala is part of the Dymocks Group and is an industry-leading Macadamia farm situated on the Mid North Coast of NSW with more than 75,000 trees planted across 200ha. The Team Leader will work closely with the Farm Manager in the day to day running of the farms. WHS will be a key responsibility with prior training and experience essential. Applicants do not need to have a horticultural background however some farming/machinery operating experience would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
• Labour management. Work alongside the Farm Manager to implement day-to-day work schedules ensuring that labor is used in the most efficient way possible. Suggest and advise the Farm Manager on better ways to deploy machinery and labour. Supervise and motivate employees.
• WHS. Be responsible for the farms' Workplace Health and Safety [WHS] program; including inductions, audits and all risk/hazard assessments. Conduct regular toolbox meetings; including WHS training modules on farming activities.Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is available and used by staff when required
• Quality assurance. Work with Farm Manager to conduct on-farm trials and to prepare reports. Organise the farms' Freshcare [food safety] program; prepare for annual audits and complete training when required.
• Machinery care. Liaise with workshop staff to organize repairs to equipment/machinery and ensure accurate service records are kept for all equipment. Ensure the workshop and equipment are clean and tidy at all times. Housekeeping must be to a high standard.
Essential: Driver's licence. Willingness to relocate to be within 15 minutes of the job.
Desirable: A background in agriculture or horticulture. HR truck and chainsaw licenses.
