Louis Dreyfus Company is a leading cotton processing organisation, with three gin operations within NSW and QLD.
We are now seeking applications for the multiple positions of Cotton Ginner/Maintenance person to join our Cotton Gins in Emerald, Queensland and Moree, NSW.
The positions require someone with the ability to assist with the general maintenance and operation of the plant. This position would suit a person who possesses a friendly manner, is able to work as part of a team and has knowledge and experience in the Ginning Industry.
Our operations are seasonal with the Cotton Gin Plant season usually from February through to July. The balance of the year is maintenance and repair of the machinery and plant.
The positions are a hands on role where the applicants must be willing to get involved in the operation and maintenance of the Gin plant.
Duties include (but not limited to):
- Operate the Cotton Gin, to achieve production and quality targets
- Production and KPI reporting
- Ensure product integrity and maintain customer service levels
- Ensure plant and equipment are repaired and maintained to a high standard
- Full commitment to safe work practices and compliance Instructing and tutoring of all workers in their duties and responsibilities
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Fault finding and repair.
- Machinery maintenance scheduling and recording.
- Ability to operate unsupervised.
- Liaise with other members and sections of the company.
- General Plant maintenance.
- Operation of the Plant and Machinery during the season.
Preference will be given to applicants who have proven experience in the Ginning of cotton with a minimum 2-5 years operating and maintaining Lummus equipment. Preference will be given to applicants who have good computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, have excellent verbal and written communication skills are prepared to work variable and long hours during the Cotton Ginning Season.
A keen energetic meticulous person with a willingness to be involved, learn the cotton industry and a good work ethic with a team focus are strongly encouraged to apply.
