We are an agricultural family business who is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance & Administration Officer to join the team located at Meningie SA.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for the accurate and timely end of month processing, as well as overseeing the administration duties of the business. 

The role will involve managing all aspects of the various accounting functions, financial reporting, property issues including insurances and IT and any other support functions that may be required.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Completion of end of month processes using Xero;
  • Accounts receivable and payable functions;
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting;
  • Preparation and review of BAS;
  • Cost allocation to correct farms/enterprises;
  • Farm Mapping;
  • Farm administration;
  • Livestock administration;
  • Coordination of Insurance;
  • Purchasing and procurement;
  • Maintenance of farm office facilities;
  • Oversee office IT systems and services, including equipment and software;
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required.

Essential skills and experience:

  • 5 years + experience in a similar role with a sound knowledge of financial and accounting procedures;
  • An interest in, or exposure to, working in an agricultural setting;
  • Knowledge and experience in using Xero and MS Excel software;
  • Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills;
  • Self-motivated, committed and resourceful with a positive attitude;
  • Ability to develop systems, processes and reporting;
  • Report writing skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of a broad range of administration duties;
  • Qualification in Business Administration, Accounting or Management at Certificate IV or above would be an advantage.
