We currently have a position available in Wemen for a diesel mechanic that with the support of a team will be tasked with the servicing and maintenance of our fleet of tractors and implement to a very high standard. The fleet is predominantly John Deere with the inclusion of Hyundai and Caterpillar loaders being used.
The position requires the candidate to be proficient in engine and driveline maintenance of agricultural equipment. This role will report to Farm Manager- Wemen and will be supported by Workshop Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- To maintain Coolibah vehicles and equipments by ensuring that a regular maintenance schedule is adhered to and that any problems that are identified are seen to in a timely manner
- To be responsible for maintaining the maintenance records in relation to the Coolibah
vehicles and equipments - Ensuring that the parts and consumables are recorded when used stock requirements for and that administrative staff are aware of what
needs to be ordered - To be responsible for the fabrication of new farm equipment, or modifications to existing, as directed by the Workshop Supervisor
- To be responsible for ensuring that any modifications or new equipment meets the legislative requirements under the Occupational Health & Safety Act
Essential criteria include:
- Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Qualification (Australian Recognised)
- Minimum 3 years post trade experience
- High focus on Safety
- Own tools (Workshop is supported by many specialist tools)
Desirable criteria include:
- Advanced diagnostic / scanner skills
- Advanced trouble shooting skills
- Hydraulics experience
- Air conditioning qualified
- Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Company focused with a can-do attitude
- Available to work on weekends as part
of a rotating roster - Able to work as part of a team
