Berry Creek Packing Company is a 100% Australian owned company that grows, treats, grades, packs, stores, distributes and tracks mango produce for over 30 growers in the Top End region of the Northern Territory and employs over 70 people each mango season.
About the role
At Berry Creek Packing we pack over 550,000 trays of mangoes seasonally and we seek an experienced and forward thinking leader who will manage our packing shed operation.
The Packing Shed Manager is responsible for the successful operation and management of the packing shed. This is a key role in our Post Harvest Operations with a focus on the coordination and supervision of safe and efficient packing operations for Mangoes in accordance with quality specifications whilst supporting our continued growth.

Skills and experience
Key responsibilities include:-
- Management, supervision of the pack shed teams.
- Ongoing analysis of pack shed efficiency.
- Maximise productivity through process improvements and staff performance.
- Undertake sufficient planning activities to support production objectives, including development of packing and logistics strategies.
- Manage order flow and preparation ready for despatch.
- Monitor quality, food safety, and WH&S requirements, and drive improvement in these areas.
To be successful in this role you will have:-
- Proven experience in the supervision of efficient production lines and management of teams in a large production environment.
- Experience in a dynamic production environment with the ability to make decisions and troubleshoot in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work with a diverse group of people
- HACCP/Freshcare certification would be considered advantageous.
- You will have a keen interest in success and hence will possess a sense of urgency and rigour while remaining composed, focused and strategic in your approach.
- Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours during peak berry harvest season, August - November.
