A permanent position is available for an experienced Station Hand to provide assistance in the running of a 6,500-acre enterprise in the New England area of NSW. The family owned enterprise is seeking a self-motivated, honest, reliable, hard-working, and conscientious person. Working alongside the Rural Manager, this hands-on role involves carrying out day to day animal (cattle and sheep) husbandry operations, general repairs and maintenance, fencing, and operation of farm machinery.
The successful applicant must possess:
- Experience and high proficiency in all aspects of both cattle and sheep husbandry (5+ years’ experience preferred)
- Experience in pasture management and weed control
- Experience in operation and maintenance of tractor, skidsteer, and other farm machinery
- Experience in fencing construction and repair
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential
- Proficient with computers and farm apps
- Self-motivated and shows initiative
- Capable of working independently, as well as part of a team
- Dedication, enthusiasm, high attention to detail
- Current driver’s license
A neat and tidy three bedroom house is available, located approximately 2 kms from a bus stop and 25kms from nearest township.
