TasFoods is seeking an energetic person who enjoys working with animals to join the Agricultural team based on the Nichols Poultry farm at Sassafras (15 minutes from Devonport).
The role is primarily involved with dairy goat farming operations but would include welfare checks on free range chickens.
Duties include:
- milking goats,
- caring for young stock,
- livestock welfare checks for goats and chickens,
- general farm duties, and
- some machinery work.
Prior experience in milking or goat animal husbandry is not essential but will be viewed favourably.
Intensive livestock management is a 7 day per week operation so applicants must be available to work both week days and weekends on a rostered basis.
