Due to ongoing growth and development of our people, Brindley Park Feedlot (located near Roma) has several opportunities for livestock hands and pen riders. You will be part of a team where you will be able to build on your existing horsemanship skills and gain solid knowledge and experience about cattle handling and our Intensive Feedlot operation.
You'll be responsible for intensive cattle feedlot activities that include:
- Workplace Health and Safety
- Animal Welfare standards
- Environmental obligations
- Understanding and monitoring cattle health and nutrition
- Identifying symptoms and providing recommended diagnosis
- Maintaining accurate records for cattle treatments and movements
To be successful in this position you must have:
- A genuine interest in working with cattle
- The flexibility to work a 10 on/4 off roster
- Excellent horsemanship skills
- An ability to work successfully within a diverse team
- An ability to adhere to workplace health and safety requirements
- Commitment to animal welfare and quality standards
- Eagerness and ability to learn and understand intensive feedlot operations and agribusiness
- Be reliable and dependable with a mature outlook
