BABI Youth and Family Service has a vacancy for a General Manager:
2 Year Fixed contract (with a possibility of an extension),
Part-time (30 hrs per week) at its Wynnum Office.
This position requires an experienced individual who has an in-depth knowledge of community sector, preferably youth housing. Someone who can demonstrate solid, hands on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting skills.
The General Manager will be responsible for strategic planning to ensure that BABI can successfully fulfill its mission both now and into the future as well as overseeing compliance with government reporting and regulations.
The position requires an individual with knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of successful fundraising strategies unique to the non-for-profit sector, with a focus on the long-term sustainability of the organisation. Knowledge and experience in fundraising, ideally across all or most of the following: corporate, trusts and foundations and government as well as experience in coordinating and drafting proposals, funding submissions and developing and delivering fundraising campaigns, will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate experience in building the capacity of the organisation through the leadership and development of Staff. The General Manager will be responsible for the enhancement of BABI’s image by being active and visible in the community and by developing meaningful, positive and strategic partnerships and networks with other professional, government / non-government and private organisations.
The position would suit a skilled professional with qualifications in Human Services, Business and/or other relevant disciplines. A minimum of five years senior management experience, preferably in a not-for-profit agency environment is also required. The position is paid in accordance with the Queensland Community Services and Crisis Assistance Award – State 2008 (TPEO) at Level 8.1.
