 About the Service

Freeman House, Armidale region Specialist Homelessness services, New England AOD Outreach, and Rosalie House are committed to minimising the harm related to homelessness, drug and alcohol use, mental health, cognitive impairment, and contact with the criminal justice system.   

 The Role

The Service Administrator is primarily responsible for supporting the programs that deliver services to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and/or substance dependence. This role provides functional support in the areas of administration, finance, quality, and facilities, and provides oversight to the small catering team. The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Coordination of all aspects of the onsite residential rehabilitation and accommodation services that includes room allocation, entry and exit inventories and condition reports, resident orientation, unit inspections and all associated reporting relating to accommodation services; other services provided by the team e.g. accompanying clients to medical and associated appointments, etc

  • Coordinate and chair team and other meetings, including meeting with stakeholders as required

  • Ensure that all processes and procedures relevant to the service, including Work Health and Safety practices are consistently complied with

  • Administrative tasks:  provide regular written reports and information as required to meet both external and internal reporting needs, chair meetings, and provide the Clinical Director with supporting in other administrative tasks as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated skills in administration.

  • Demonstrated experience in accounts payable/receivable and financial reporting

  • Demonstrated experience in working with people who have complex social problems.

  • A demonstrated sensitivity to those who are disadvantaged.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

  • Well-developed computer literacy and word processing skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as unsupervised.

  • Demonstrated high level organisational, time management and collaborative skills

  • Willingness to work within the ethos and vision of St Vincent de Paul
