The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team in Woodville/Mile End. We are looking for a Post Placement Support Officer and Work Mentor who has a passion for working with disadvantaged youth, a background in social work (or a related discipline) and experience working with people who have complex needs.

In this position, you will be at the heart of the relationship between Employers and jobseekers, responsible for increasing jobseekers' success in finding work, and for improving Employer satisfaction when hiring to fill vacancies. You will provide rewarding support to both job seekers and employers by using risk management principles and relationship development strategies to ensure successful employment outcomes. 

 
You will do this by: 

  • Support clients in the identification of suitable training and employment solutions;
  • Liaising with your colleagues to understand which jobseekers are available and suitable for placement based on Employers vacancies;
  • Identify any risks to jobseeker placement and use 'effective questioning' and regular monitoring to establish any potential issues which suggest a  placement is in jeopardy;
  • Conduct Post Placement Support (PPS) and ensure contact is being made with job seekers on a regular basis;
  • Develop and implement a Risk Management Plan for each jobseeker where applicable to minimise the likelihood of a failed outcome;
  • Provide timely support to jobseekers either directly, or through liaison of jobseeker's recruitment consultant.
