Step Up is designed to assist young people with a disability in their transition from school to adult life with a focus on gaining employment. The service offers a wide variety of skill development packages designed to assist our participants to work towards their individual goals.

What you will need.

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and well organised person to assist in management of the day to day running of Step Up - Transition & Employment Service. As the Team Leader you will be responsible for providing the team with guidance, support and training in the areas of individual programming, behaviour support and general operations including monitoring budgets and rostering of staff. You will be required to communicate effectively with the Service Area Manager about staff and participant related issues.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience working in a similar field and/or role.
  • Experience or knowledge in the development of innovative training and skills development activities.
  • Passion for developing person centred services and supports focused on delivering individual participant goals.

Selection Criteria – You will demonstrate qualifications/experience/qualities in:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Work or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and motivate teams and individuals.
  • A broad understanding of the issues faced by young people with disabilities including mental illness.
  • Experience in the development of training programs and other innovative approaches in the development of employability and vocational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders including participants, families, service providers, local businesses and other government agencies.
  • High level of verbal and written communication with exceptional problem solving skills.
  • Excellent computer and administration skills including managing budget expenditure and staff rosters.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
