The Social Programs  Homelessness Services Network will work as one team with a person-centred; safe & coordinated approach to service delivery to ensure the best outcome for all who seek our assistance.

The Role:

The Support Facilitator (Foster House) will enable clients to feel safe and supported by providing assistance with practical tasks and supporting their case plans in line with the mission and values of TSA. This role is based at the service and will include Day, Afternoon & Night shifts. The successful applicant must be available to do these shifts.

What we are seeking from you?

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Community Services, Social Work or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a community setting, particularly working with those experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, drug and/or alcohol addictions
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the community services sector in NSW, with a specific emphasis on homelessness and family/domestic violence (including issues, trends, resources & services etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with key service providers.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Current Senior First Aid & Mental Health First Aid Certificate.
  • Criminal History Check & Clear Working with Children Check.
  • Availabilty to fulfill various night shifts.


Desirable Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Experience in Trauma Informed Care approach.

  • Flexibility with work hours and location of work to meet the operational requirements of the position.
  • Willingness to undertake further training for professional development.
  • incumbants need to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to carry out the duties of the position.

It is also essential to have a current NSW class C driver’s licence for this position.
