About the Role:
We are looking for a Team Leader who has a passion for innovative service delivery, a commitment to quality outcomes for our clients, and the development of highly performing staff teams.
This position will play a pivotal role in the development of a new service offering within the Hunter region for Our Voice Our Choice, so it is important that you have a can do attitude and are someone who can think outside of the square!
As a Team Leader you will be responsible for overseeing the provision of supports across multiple programs to people with disability and mental health.
This position requires staff to:
- Lead each team in an inclusive and positive manner to ensure all strategic business goals are achieved, and client individual goals are meet.
- Focus on creating and maintaining highly performing team culture, is sensitive to, and promotes, cultural diversity and acceptance
- Ensures that supports adhere to the principles and objectives of the NDIS Code of Conduct, Disability Service Standards (DSS) and other appropriate legislative requirements
- Embrace and participate in the companies ‘best practice and ‘continual improvement’ approach.
- Ensure change is done well, and has an ability to implement practice and operational initiatives at a service level.
- Ensure service budgets are managed within acceptable variance levels.
To be considered for the position, you will possess:
Essential
- Ability to prioritise and problem solve complex situations
- Highly developed and effective communication, numerical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work individually and supervise a highly performing team with minimal supervision
- Has sound leadership skills that help teams focus on person-centred care in a demanding and challenging environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain a safe work environment
- Qualifications (Diploma/CERT IV in Disability Work, Mental Health, Business management or equivalent.)
- Current National Police Check, WWCC, and First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain this qualification prior to the commencement of this role
- Current NSW Drivers licence
- Two (2) years demonstrated experience in disability or related field.
- Demonstrated sound computer skills – MS Word and MS Outlook
Desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Disability legislation and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in Community Services
