The Organisation

Our customer is a long standing NGO services providing a suite of services to vulnerable members of the community within the greater Logan, Bayside and Scenic Rim regions.

The Role

We are excited to partner with our customer to source a qualified and experienced Domestic and Family Violence worker to be part of a newly developed program to create solutions for families at the critical in juncture with the statutory child protection system. This is not a case-management service, it is a time-limited intervention that aims to set families up for success.

This newly developed team will be based in the Logan area, the position is permanent Part Time (19 Hours per Week) with some out of hours work required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate assessments for client family member/s to determine needs and preferred responses, in conjunction with Child Safety assessment processes
  • Effective connection of client family members with appropriate services to support children’s safety
  • On-going Safety and Risk monitoring in collaboration with Child Safety Officers
  • Domestic and Family Violence advice and support for Child Safety and ASC workers
  • Timely and accurate data entry
  • Timely and accurate written and verbal reports on assessments and connections provided

To Be Successful

  • Relevant Tertiary Degree qualifications
  • Demonstrated extensive experience and contemporary knowledge using a variety of assessment tools working with children and families
  • Significant up-to-date knowledge and experience in working with families experiencing Domestic and Family Violence
  • A comprehensive and up to date understanding of child protection legislation and practices
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of local services and referral pathways to effectively link families into required support systems
  • Working knowledge of child development and the impacts of trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACE)
  • Proven time management experience and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with families from diverse cultural and socio economic backgrounds
  • Current Working With Children's Check or ability to obtain
  • Current Qld Driver Licence
