The Smith Family is a national charity that helps young Australians in need to get the most out of their education, helping them to create better futures for themselves.

An exciting new opportunity is now being offered to coordinate and deliver the "Let's Read" and "Let's Count" programs to identified Early Years Centres within South Australia, in partnership with the Department for Education.

Disadvantaged children often miss out on developing the building blocks of early learning. As the Early Years Project Officer you will be working with Early Years educators to supports parents to develop the skills of the children in their care.

We are seeking a highly effective communicator that can demonstrate professional and appropriate language in written and verbal form for a variety of audiences, exceptional interpersonal skills including a genuine and approachable style.

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in the areas of Education or Early Childhood are essential.
  • Qualifications in Mathematics or Adult Training are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering professional training to adults.
  • Proven experience in the Early Years sector.
  • Proven ability to establish, build and maintain internal and external networks and relationships.
  • Proven ability to work independently to achieve identified goals and manage competing demands within the time constraints.

This is a full time position and a drivers licence and a current working with children screening check from DCSI are essential. A competitive salary package including salary sacrifice will be discussed with short listed applicants.
