Project Coordinator – Booraja – Fixed Term (12 months)
Classification: Part Time (3 days per week)
Location: IRT Market Street, Wollongong

IRT Foundation is responsible for delivering IRT Group’s social impact in alignment with the Social Impact Strategy 2017-2020.

The Booraja Home Care Project aims to improve access to government-funded home care and provide a new choice in culturally sensitive care for Aboriginal Elders. It also aims to create new job pathways for Indigenous people by providing traineeships and employment in Individual Support.

This position is identified for Australian Indigenous people, pursuant to section14 (d) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act. IRT Foundation considers that being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine occupational qualification or requirement for this position under relevant anti-discrimination legislation.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Implement project activities as outlined by the Department for the Booraja Home Care pilot
  • Maintain project documentation including plans and reports
  • Monitor progress on all aspects using project management tools
  • Acting as the first point of contact and manage relationships with project stakeholders

To be successful you will have:

  • Experience working in an Aboriginal community setting and delivering project and administrative support
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • A strong understanding and previous exposure to project management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using computer systems
