Chrysalis Therapeutic Support Services (Chrysalis) mission is to provide high quality Therapeutic Support and Behaviour Support Services for children, young people, their family/kin/carer.
The opportunity
Chrysalis have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Casual Therapeutic Behaviour Support Consultant/Clinician to provide in-home training and support for people with complex needs.
Key responsibilities
- Ability to work co-operatively and collaboratively, as part of a behaviour support outreach team, with families, schools and other stakeholders (eg ability to give advice and support to other professionals in relation to effective strategies for behaviour management.
- Work with children or their families to implement strategies which will improve their capacity to cope, social and emotional wellbeing & quality of life.
- Hold a small case management load and ensure that up to date case records are kept, as required
- Evaluate support provided to clients on an ongoing basis to ensure activities and care provided is consistent with changing client needs.
- Participate in a diverse range of assessments
- Review plan implementation goals
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Proficient written and verbal communication, consultation and negotiation skills
- Driver’s licence and reliable car
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience ( 2-5 years) of working with children, young people, adults and families with social, emotional, behavioural, special educational needs and/or those with challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support, anger management and/or strengths based communication skills).

Community Services Qualification in Social Work, Mental Health, Psychology, OOHC, Disability, Counselling or other relevant profession.

Well developed communication, time management and organisational skills.
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
The Working with Children Check and Criminal Record Check are prerequisites for employment. Applicants from Provisional Psychologist's are welcome to apply but will require external supervision.
