About The Role: This position undertakes the initial telephone engagement with newly referred families with children 0 – 6 who have developmental delays or disabilities and who do not have an NDIS plan.

each ECEI NDIS services a wide region, with the first point of call often being via phone. This role will be responsible for taking calls and assisting callers with information and suitable pathways and options.

The position will be responsible for:

  • undertaking a telephone screening
  • prioritise families
  • identification of needs
  • appointment setting and referral to an appropriate coordinator

This includes exploring with families their child’s needs and screening their eligibility to the ECEI service and scheme. The successful applicant right fit for the role will have an understanding of child development previous experience in screening and assessment of children 0-6 years old and possess the skills to collect and analyse information and utilise information to develop options for families.

They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have experience with engaging and communicating effectively with people over the phone. Excellent computer and organisational skills and experience utilising interpreting services.
