The Opportunity
As a Family Counsellor, reporting to the Team Leader, you will proactively engage with families to deliver BFF groups, public workshops, seminars and forums to connect with families and the broader community, including brief individual support sessions with families stemming from direct referrals and outreach contact.
The role will also include:
- Facilitate therapeutic and psycho-educational information sessions for families and carers
- Facilitate links to the online BFF family and carer support program modules
- Provide counselling and ongoing support to families and carers who have attended the BFF information sessions, using evidence-based family inclusive practice principles.
What you will bring to the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related area/health services discipline or equivalent experience.
- Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence based family/AOD counselling practice and case management.
- Experience in development and delivery of therapeutic group process and high-level group facilitation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, travel to outreach locations and manage own workload.
- Highly developed communication and community engagement skills.
- Local area knowledge is highly desirable
