The role of a disability support worker is personally rewarding as you are contributing to improving the quality of life of a number of individuals.
We are seeking people who are passionate about supporting others, and who share in our values of respecting clients and supporting them how you would expect your family or yourself to be treated.
About the role
- Provide individual support to people with disabilities and mental health issues to enable them to undertake all aspects of daily living in an accommodation setting
- Assist individuals who demonstrate challenging behaviours to achieve their goals
- Influencing and encouraging independence for community integration
- Promote and role model positive behaviours, learning experiences and skills development for clients
Key Requirements
- Passionate for supporting people to enhance their lives and independence
- Strong team focus
- Proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously
- Previous experience in Mental Health desirable
- Cert 111 in Disability or equivalent is desirable
- Experience working with people with complex support needs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Sound computer skills
Additional Requirements
The following requirements are essential for working with our organisation, therefore all applicants must be willing to obtain if not already held
- National Police Check obtained within the last 6 months
- First Aid and CPR certificate
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Working with Children Check
