Our client is a not for profit organisation which provides services to people of all ages from its northern suburbs base. It is seeking an experienced Disability Services Manager.

The Role

The Disability Services Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of services for people living with disabilities, and liaising with their families, stakeholders and supporters. Reporting to the COO you will provide input and feedback to achieve the organisation's key strategic objectives.
  
  • Provide leadership and actively contribute as a member of the Leadership Team.
  • Supervise and manage the disabilities team to ensure an efficient and effective working environment.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff
  • Ensure sound financial management of programs, funding and Disability Services as a whole, and enable the business to respond positively to the funding changes and NDIA/NDIS.
  • Ensure services delivered to clients meet individual goals and outcomes, as well as operational requirements.
  • Manage budget planning for the department.
  • Prepare, coordinate and submit submissions for funding in conjunction with the COO.
  • Assess the community needs and provide feedback to the COO.
  • Undertake Business Development initiatives.    
Skills & Experience  
  • Minimum 5 years' senior management experience.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • Recent experience in the disability services sector, including NDIS, and knowledge of relevant quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, and evaluate client services.
  • Ability to implement new services streams and be adaptable and flexible to changing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and working within set budgets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR management.
  • Highly developed computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and a working knowledge of client management software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR management.
  • Understanding of occupational health and safety legislation and requirements.  
Other Requirements   
  • Relevant tertiary clinical qualification in human services/allied health is essential.
  • Tertiary business qualification is desirable.
  • Ability to pass a background check to successfully obtain an Australian Federal Police Clearance.
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children's Check and First Aid Certificate.
