We have a permanent full-time position available, remunerated at level 5 of the award.

The Salvation Army, affectionately known as the "Salvos" is one of Australia's most loved and respected charities in Australia.  A modern community-based movement, The Salvation Army is also one of the largest and most diverse social welfare providers in the world, giving help to the most marginalised people in our society.

The Sunrise Homeless Program accommodates 30 single homeless people year round, with each resident getting their own room with a bed, wardrobe, chair and desk, and adjoining bathroom. The typical length of stay for our residents is three months, during which time our aim is to understand their individual needs, and support them in accessing longer term accommodation and support services.

As a Case Manager you will be responsible for building individuals capacities so they are best able to transition back into the community, by assessing the needs of each resident and focusing your time and energy on these areas. In this role you will gain experience working with people affected by mental health and AOD issues and be actively involved with counselling, client support, case management and group facilitation.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have extensive experience providing support services to similar client groups, and ideally hold a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Be able to demonstrate your ability to work within the parameters of a case management model
  • Know how to identify risk factors (for yourself and our clients) and take appropriate action including referrals
  • Have successfully worked in rural or remote areas with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Have the flexibility to be on call and work after hours if required.
