About the Role

$24.86 (gross) per hour

Full-Time, Fixed Term (1 year with a possible 2 year extension)

PCYC Queensland is currently recruiting for a motivated Program Coordinator to research, prepare, develop, implement and evaluate a range of activities and programs that meet the needs of the Emergency Services Cadets program. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support local Cadet Coordinators and Cadet locations to ensure the program responds to local needs
  • Develop, promote, implement and evaluate community outreach programs to engage participants;
  • Improve relationship networks between program participants, emergency services, volunteers and other community organisations
  • Identify suitable volunteer staff to become involved in the delivery of activities/programs
  • Assist to establish new locations for Program delivery via community consultation and feasibility assessment
  • Assist with Program administration and social media promotions
  • In consultation with relevant Stakeholders, develop and deliver training workshops as required
  • Provide appropriate Program feedback and reports to the Emergency Services Cadets Program Manager as required.

About You

  • Minimum Certificate IV Community Development or equivalent 2 years industry experience
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders quickly
  • Experience working with volunteers whilst in a leadership role; with the ability to effectively work with and develop volunteers is desirable
  • Experience in group facilitation, community development, youth development or similar is desirable
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the Emergency Services Sector
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout Queensland
  • Effective time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and commitments
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Check/Blue Card
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate
