About the role

The Employee Services Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of employment support workers with an aim of creating sustainable opportunities for economic participation, income generation, and employment (including self-employment) for refugees in Nauru.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years’ direct services experience in casework and / or employment support services community services settings including experience working directly with clients who have complex needs and/or high vulnerability;
  • Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience in employment support services and working with culturally and linguistically diverse and/or Refugee backgrounds;
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to build influential and productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders in complex and challenging environments;
  • Well-developed leadership and management skills within the context of a mission-driven public company, with a track record in development of high performing teams, promotion of a quality improvement culture and effective management of budgets and other resources;
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and manage complexity; and
  • Relevant computing skills including Microsoft Office 365, Client Systems and online data systems.

Desirable Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in management, social work, community and economic development, human services or related disciplines;
  • Experience working with refugees and asylum seekers; and
  • Experience working or living in a developing country.
