An exceptional Leader is required in the Council District of Aramac and Muttaburra.

Achieve significant Barcaldine relationship building between Council and its Communities with a Regional approach and a local District focus;

Engaging with your Local Community by positive and proactive activities of attendance at community events  during the week and on weekends both within and outside of usual business hours;

Being a positive and supportive Barcaldine Regional Council Team Member delivering successful District leadership and coordination supporting the Regional Council within your District ;

Actively Influencing Council’s relevant District operations, through your advocacy and efforts to achieve positive outcomes for the Barcaldine Regional Council Region together with your District Community and ensuring successful delivery of  Council’s values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence and responsibility by leading the relevant District Office and Staff Team;

Delivering optimum Community Representation and Communications, Operational Services, Administration and District Financial management with all being fully compliant with Council Regional requirements and Queensland Local Government Act and Local Laws;

Analytical and leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver consistent and practical solutions to multi-faceted issues within the District in accord with the Queensland Local Government Act, Local Laws compliance, Regional Policies and Procedures, and approved local requirements.

You will have - As a qualified individual you will identify as a people person capable of assisting and supporting the Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer with the operational leadership of Council. You will implement and oversee the long-term goals, strategies, plans and policies of the Council.

A demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and monitoring an operational budget ;

A demonstrated ability in human resources management  including leading and managing staff in a team-based environment to optimise both productivity and efficiency; and

A demonstrated commitment to community development.

Reporting direct to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer you will liaise with, the Chief Executive Officer, other District Managers, and all Council Supervisors and Functional Leaders.

An appropriate contract will be negotiated with the successful applicant and include the use of a Council vehicle and accommodation assistance in accordance with Council policy.
